In a recent CNBC interview, Craig Columbus of Tower Square Investment Management and Susan Fulton of FBB Capital Partners discussed buying opportunities in the current market and their opposing views on the timing for a Federal Reserve rate increase. The minutes from the Federal Reserve’s July 28 and 29 meeting are scheduled to be released today on Aug. 19; however, the meeting’s minutes won’t reflect the impact of China’s currency devaluation which occurred on Aug. 11. While many economists do not think the currency devaluation will have a drastic effect on the Federal Reserve’s plans for a rate increase most agree that the Fed will take the stronger dollar effects into greater consideration overall.
