Edward Lampert (Trades, Portfolio) of RBS Partners LP reduced three stakes in his portfolio in the first quarter.

Lampert trimmed his stake in AutoNation Inc. (AN, Financial), a Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based auto retailer, by more than 10%. Lampert sold 698,053 shares for an average price of $48.57 per share. The transaction had a -2.86% impact on Lampert’s portfolio.

AutoNation was founded in 1996 and has become the leading automotive retailer in the U.S. with new vehicles accounting for more than 57% of its revenue. AutoNation sold its 10 millionth vehicle – an unprecedented milestone – last year.

The remaining stake of 6,093,287 shares is 5.91% of AutoNation’s outstanding shares and 25.21% of Lampert’s total assets. Lampert is AutoNation’s leading shareholder among the gurus.

Lampert sliced more than 10% from his stake in Sears Canada Inc. (SRSC, Financial), a Toronto-based retailer that was founded in 1952 as a joint venture with Canadian department store chain Simpsons and U.S.-based Sears, Roebuck & Co.

Lampert sold 2,692,691 shares for an average price of $3.34 per share. The transaction had a -0.94% impact on Lampert’s portfolio.

The remaining stake of 23,504,516 shares is 34.07% of Sears Canada’s outstanding shares and 5.83% of Lampert’s total assets. Lampert, the chairman of Sears Holdings Corp. (SHLD, Financial), is Sears Canada’s leading shareholder among the gurus.
