To measure the soundness of a company's financial strategy, look at the dividend it pays to shareholders, said Brian Rogers.

"A good dividend yield is the byproduct of a sound financial strategy of a company," Rogers said Tuesday on CNBC's "Kudlow & Company. "I think looking to invest in companies with balanced financial plans makes a lot of sense for the investor."

Rogers, chief investment officer at T. Rowe Price, recommended three stocks that are out of favor on Wall Street but which pay dividends and can reasonably be expected to rally again.
