- Motor vehicle sales began reporting on Aug. 1 with total vehicle sales at 16.7 million, an increase from 16.5 million.
- Personal income and outlays was reported on Aug. 1 with personal income levels unchanged for the month and the PCE Price Index reporting an annual increase of 1.4%.
- The PMI Manufacturing Index increased to 53.3 from 52.0.
- The ISM Manufacturing Index decreased to 56.3 from 57.8.
- Construction spending gained year over year by 1.6%.
