The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,256.56 for a gain of 39.68 points or 0.64%. The VIX Volatility Index was lower at 15.51 for a loss of 0.53 points or 3.30%.
For the week, the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 1.05%, the S&P 500 decreased 1.42%, and the Nasdaq Composite decreased 1.49%.
