Overview:
Starbucks' (SBUX, Financial) new CEO Keven Johnson attended his first annual shareholder meeting as CEO of the company. At the meeting, he announced a few interesting things, the first of which was full pay equity for all men, women and races in the U.S.
He sat down for an interview with CNBC during the annual meeting. During the interview, he discussed pay, China and growth for the company going forward. He also discussed the company's commitment to online ordering and digitally connecting with customers. Currently, Starbuck has nearly 15 million people using its reward program on its mobile app. The company has opened up its online order and pay to non-reward customers. Starbuck is determined to grow its digital footprint.
Jim Cramer asked Johnson some question about Starbucks and its operations in China. It's not the first time Cramer has interviewed Johnson and Cramer is a fan of the company. Johnson was asked by how Trump's trade policies will reflect the company strong brand and relationship with China. He didn't seem worried and believes that the company's operations in China are strong and will be unaffected.
