The VIX Volatility Index was lower at 21.16 for a loss of -3.71 points or -14.92%.

Investors eased some of their concerns over trade wars as stocks gained on Monday. Sectors leading gains included technology and financial.
The Chicago Fed National Activity Index was the only leading economic report on the calendar Monday. The Index increased to 0.88 from 0.02.
