U.S. markets are set to open mixed on Tuesday, after yesterday’s best performing day in years.
Shares of Red Hat Inc. (RHT, Financial) rose on the heels of the company reporting its financial results for the third quarter. The company posted adjusted earnings per share of 91 cents on revenue of $772.33 million, an increase of 22.8% from the prior-year quarter. The company managed to beat revenue estimations by $10.73 million in revenue and 10 cents in earnings.
“We maintained strong subscription revenue growth in both of our major technology categories during the year, enabling Red Hat to exceed a $3 billion annualized revenue run-rate exiting the year,” said Jim Whitehurst, president and CEO of Red Hat.

The main European stock markets closed higher. The U.K.'s FTSE jumped 1.50%, France's CAC achieved 0.96%, Germany's Dax fell 1.6% and Spain's Ibex gained 1%.
In Asia, India’s BSE Sensex gained 0.33%, China´s SSE Composite advanced 1.05%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped 0.79% and Japan's Nikkei gained 2.65%.
