In 2000, Brian Bares founded Bares Capital Management, an investment advisory firm based in Austin, Texas.
Bares is known for running concentrated portfolios of small and micro-cap companies, a strategy which led to 53% gross returns in 2010. He has a degree in mathematics and has authored a book, “The Small-Cap Advantage: How Top Endowments and Foundations Turn Small Stocks Into Big Returns.”
Bares spoke with the Bulldog Investment Co. as well as the Texas Lutheran University and Seguin, Texas communities on March 30.
