The paperback version of Alice Schroeder's biography on Warren Buffett will be available Oct. 27.Schroeder told me the paperback version of "The Snowball" includes a new chapter covering the financial crisis and 2008 presidential election. The hardcover edition cut off just after Bear Stearns was acquired by J.P. Morgan Chase in March 2008.Schroeder said she also condensed the book a bit because of the new material. Overall the paperback version is slightly shorter (832 pages according to Amazon.com, where it's listed for $13.50).
"The Snowball" is the only authorized Buffett biography. The less-than-flattering personal details that Schroeder revealed about Buffett have caused the relationship to cool between the writer and investor. Click here to see an interview with Schroeder on this subject.
