Tuesday’s market movers
U.S. market indexes were lower Tuesday, affected by a global selloff that followed a decreased economic growth outlook by the International Monetary Fund. Treasury yields were also lower with the 10-year Treasury falling 5.4 basis points to 2.728%. The U.S. Dollar Index was up slightly higher, however, as the IMF’s outlook for the U.S. was unchanged.

- The seasonally adjusted annual rate for existing home sales decreased 6.4% in December to 4.99 million.
- The Treasury held auctions for three-month bills and six-month bills at rates of 2.390% and 2.450%.
- The IMF decreased the global growth outlook to 3.5% for 2019.
