Thomas Brown, chief executive officer at Second Curve Capital LLC, talks with Bloomberg's Betty Liu, Jon Erlichman and Adam Johnson about JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s first-quarter profit reported today. The second biggest U.S. bank by assets beat analysts' estimates as net income rose 55 percent to $3.33 billion, or 74 cents a share, on record fixed-income trading revenue and a reduction in provisions for credit losses.
It was a solid quarterly report and if anything, Brown would like to see the core banking loans to grow instead of shrinking.
