March 2019 Buckle Inc Corporate Sales Recorded Call Transcript
This is Adam Akerson of Buckle, and this is a recording of Buckle's commentary related to the company's March 2019 sales press release.
Our April 11, 2019, press release reported the comparable store sales for stores open at least 1 full year for the 5-week period ended April 6, 2019, increased 0.5% in comparison to the prior year 5-week period ended April 7, 2018. Total net sales for the 5-week fiscal month remained flat at $82.3 million for both the current and prior year fiscal March.
On the men's side of the business, total sales for the 5-week fiscal period ended April 6, 2019, were up slightly in comparison to the prior year 5-week period ended April 7, 2018. The men's business represented approximately 50.5% of total sales for the fiscal month versus approximately 49.5% in the prior year fiscal March. For the fiscal month, overall price points on the men's side of the business were down approximately 2.5%.
