Gentex Corp designs and manufactures automatic-dimming rearview mirrors and electronics for the automotive industry, dimmable aircraft windows for the aviation industry, and commercial smoke alarms and signaling devices for the fire protection industry.

Gentex was founded in 1974 to produce smoke-detection equipment. The company sold its first glare-control interior mirror in 1982 and its first model using electrochromic technology in 1987. Automotive revenue is about 98% of total revenue, and the company is constantly developing new applications for the technology to remain on top. Sales from 2016 totaled about $1.7 billion on 36.1 million mirrors shipped. The company is based in Zeeland, Michigan.

ZEELAND, Mich., March 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ:GNTX), the Zeeland, Michigan-based manufacturer of automotive automatic-dimming rearview mirrors, automotive electronics, dimmable aircraft windows and fire protection products, today announced that its Board of Directors recently declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.09 (9 cents) per share that will be payable April 19, 2017, to shareholders of record of the common stock at the close of business on April 7, 2017.
