Emera Inc. is a Canadian energy holding company whose regulated utilities and related businesses serve customers in Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. Its largest subsidiary, Tampa Electric, provides electricity to customers in west-central Florida, while Nova Scotia Power serves nearly all electricity customers in Nova Scotia. Emera also owns Peoples Gas, a natural gas distribution utility in Florida, and New Mexico Gas Company. In Canada, it holds an interest in the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline and operates other energy infrastructure. The company has been exiting its Caribbean operations, having sold its stake in Emera Caribbean. Revenue comes primarily from regulated electricity and natural gas distribution and transmission rates, supplemented by non-regulated generation and energy marketing. Emera is headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and its shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
