We see attractive multiyear growth opportunities in companies such as York Space Systems. The aerospace and defense sector is experiencing a structural shift driven by modernization and global rearmament, which supports sustained demand across mission-critical technologies. York Space Systems is well-positioned to benefit from this trend, as governments are not only responding to near-term conflicts but also rebuilding inventories and upgrading capabilities.
We see attractive multiyear growth opportunities in companies such as Babcock, RBC Bearings, Woodward, FTAI Aviation, Melrose, Kratos and York Space Systems. The structural shift driven by modernization and global rearmament is supporting sustained demand across mission-critical technologies, including York Space Systems.
York Space Systems was added to the portfolio in Q1 2026 as part of our strategy to invest in high-quality companies with company-specific growth drivers in unique end markets, including aerospace and satellites.
York Space Systems (YSS) was the largest detractor in our long book in the quarter. The company is a space and defense prime contractor, with hardware and software capabilities that enable it to meet a wide range of mission requirements. Despite favorable fundamentals, the January IPO traded below its offering price, triggering technical selling in a temporarily soft aerospace and defense market. Following its first earnings report as a public company, the stock recovered. However, we exited our position as the visibility into funding and competition became more difficult to confidently discern.
