The AES Corporation is a global energy company that generates and distributes electricity through a portfolio of thermal and renewable power plants and regulated utilities. Its generation mix includes natural gas, coal, oil, solar, wind, and energy storage, and the company has been expanding its renewable and battery storage capacity. AES operates in multiple countries across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, serving utilities, industrial customers, and residential consumers. The company owns and operates regulated electric utilities, including in the United States and Latin America, that provide distribution services under long-term concessions or rate-regulated frameworks. Revenue comes from selling electricity under long-term power purchase agreements, from regulated utility operations, and from competitive generation sales.
