Address 22 Adelaide Street West, Suite 4220, Toronto, ON, CAN, M5H 4E3
Sherritt International Corporation is a Canadian resource company focused on nickel and cobalt production. Its core business is the Moa Joint Venture in Cuba, where lateritic ore is mined and processed into mixed sulphides, which are then refined at the company's Fort Saskatchewan facility in Alberta, Canada, into finished nickel and cobalt products. Sherritt also holds a majority interest in Energas, an independent power producer in Cuba, and has historically held oil and gas interests there. The company's metals are sold to customers in North America, Europe, and Asia for use in stainless steel, alloys, and batteries. Revenue is generated primarily through the sale of refined nickel and cobalt, supplemented by electricity sales from its Cuban power operations. Sherritt has divested most of its non-core international assets in recent years.
