Westfield Trust Business Description

Westfield Trust was an Australian listed property trust that held interests in a portfolio of shopping centres across Australia and New Zealand. Its properties comprised regional and super-regional malls, with tenants including national department stores, discount department stores, supermarkets, and specialty retailers. The trust generated revenue primarily from rental income and property management fees, with additional income from development and redevelopment activities. Westfield Trust was managed by Westfield Management Limited, part of the Westfield Group, and was one of the entities through which the Westfield group held its Australian and New Zealand shopping centre assets. In 2004, Westfield Trust was merged with Westfield America Trust and Westfield Holdings Limited to form Westfield Group, a stapled security structure. The Westfield Group was subsequently restructured in 2014, separating its Australian and New Zealand operations into Scentre Group.
