Intangible assets are defined as identifiable non-monetary assets that cannot be seen, touched or physically measured. Intangibles acquired are on balance sheet at fair value.

Internally developed brand names (Coke, Wrigleys, Band-Aid) however are not reflected on the balance sheet.
