Gentex Corporation is a Michigan-based manufacturer of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors and related electronic products for the global automotive industry. Its core products include electrochromic interior and exterior mirrors that automatically darken to reduce headlight glare, along with mirror-integrated features such as HomeLink garage-door openers, compasses, microphones, and camera-based driver-assistance systems. The company also produces fire-protection products, dimmable aircraft windows, and, following its acquisition of Voxx International's automotive electronics business, consumer electronics brands. Automotive customers are primarily the major global automakers, to which Gentex supplies mirrors on a Tier 1 basis from manufacturing operations in the United States and abroad. Automotive mirror sales account for the large majority of revenue, with the remainder from fire protection, aerospace, and other non-automotive lines. Gentex generates revenue mainly through per-vehicle mirror supply programs and aftermarket sales.
