Albemarle Corporation is a specialty chemicals company and one of the world's largest producers of lithium, bromine, and catalysts. It operates through three segments: Lithium, Bromine Specialties, and Catalysts. The Lithium segment is a fully integrated producer, with upstream resources including brine operations in Chile and the United States and hard rock mines in Australia, plus refining plants in Chile, the US, Australia, and China; lithium serves battery, energy storage, and industrial markets, particularly electric vehicles. Bromine Specialties produces bromine and derivative chemicals used in flame retardants, drilling fluids, and other applications, while Catalysts supplies refining and petrochemical catalysts, including hydroprocessing and fluid catalytic cracking products. The company sells to customers worldwide across Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East, generating revenue primarily through long-term supply agreements and spot sales of its chemical products.
