Chevron is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies, engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industry. Its Upstream segment explores for and produces crude oil and natural gas, with major positions in the U.S. Permian Basin and Gulf of Mexico, Kazakhstan's Tengiz field, Australian LNG, and, following the 2025 acquisition of Hess, a significant stake in the prolific Guyana Stabroek block. The Downstream segment refines crude oil into fuels and lubricants, markets under the Chevron and Texaco brands, and produces petrochemicals through the CPChem joint venture. Chevron also invests in lower-carbon businesses including renewable fuels, hydrogen, and carbon capture and storage. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the company returns substantial cash to shareholders through dividends and buybacks.
