Chemins de Fer Départementaux (CFD) is a French railway engineering and rolling stock company based in Dijon. It designs, manufactures, and maintains railway equipment, specializing in narrow-gauge and light rail systems. Its product range includes diesel and electric locomotives, tram-trains, railcars, passenger coaches, freight wagons, funicular cars, and track maintenance vehicles. CFD also supplies components and provides overhaul, modernization, and spare-parts services for existing fleets. Customers include regional and local passenger transport authorities, industrial operators, mining and quarry companies, port and logistics firms, and heritage and tourist railways. The company serves clients primarily in France and other European countries, as well as selected export markets.
