Following an asset swap with E.ON, it operates through segments covering offshore and onshore wind, solar, hydro and battery storage, plus conventional generation from gas, lignite and nuclear. RWE is one of Europe's largest renewable energy producers, with wind and solar farms across Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and other European markets, as well as significant operations in the United States through subsidiaries like RWE Renewables Americas. It also operates flexible gas-fired plants that support grid stability. The company sells electricity wholesale and through power purchase agreements, and it trades energy commodities.
