Fresnillo PLC is a Mexican precious metals mining company and one of the world's largest primary silver producers, also producing significant amounts of gold, lead and zinc as by-products. Its operations are concentrated in Mexico, with underground silver mines including Fresnillo, Saucito and Juanicipio in Zacatecas, Cienega in Durango, and San Julian on the Chihuahua-Durango border, alongside the Herradura and Noche Buena surface gold mines in Sonora. The company also operates the Soledad-Dipolos and Pyrites projects and holds exploration concessions across Mexico, Peru and Chile. It sells silver and gold doré and concentrates to smelters and refiners internationally, generating revenue primarily from the sale of refined metals at prevailing market prices, with by-product credits from lead, zinc and other metals reducing its cost base. Fresnillo is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 index.
