Its principal subsidiary, Kookmin Bank, is one of the country's largest commercial banks, and the group also operates through subsidiaries in securities, credit cards, asset management, life insurance, and non-life insurance. Its business segments include banking, securities, non-life insurance, credit card, and life insurance, with the banking segment generating the majority of revenue. The group serves retail customers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large corporations, offering deposits, loans, wealth management, investment banking, and insurance products. While its primary market is South Korea, it also maintains international operations and overseas offices in select markets. Revenue is derived mainly from net interest income on loans and deposits, supplemented by fees and commissions from card, securities, and asset management services, as well as insurance premiums and investment gains.
