Be Aware

Usually the presence of treasury shares and a history of buyback are good indicators that company has competitive advantage. But studies have shown that companies usually buy back at wrong time. Clean Energy Fuels Corp. is a U.S.-based provider of natural gas and renewable natural gas (RNG) fuels for the transportation market. The company supplies compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG), and increasingly renewable natural gas, to commercial fleets, transit agencies, refuse haulers, airports, and other heavy-duty vehicle operators across the United States and Canada. It purchases natural gas from utilities and produces RNG from dairy and other waste streams, then compresses, liquefies, and dispenses fuel through a network of company-owned and customer-owned fueling stations. Beyond fuel sales, Clean Energy builds, operates, and maintains natural gas fueling infrastructure for customers, and generates revenue from station construction, service and maintenance agreements, and renewable fuel credit sales. Its primary market is the United States, with additional operations in Canada, and its customers are predominantly fleet operators seeking lower-emission alternatives to diesel.
