Cerner Corp. (CERN)

Chanos sold out his 104,244-share stake in Cerner with an impact of -3.26% on his portfolio.

It has been a new holding for Kynikos Associates, and the firm bought 158,427 shares at $56.19, back in Q3 2014 and has both increased and decreased the position over the quarters. This quarter Chanos sold his shares at a higher price than its purchase price at $65.34 and gained 15%.

Cerner has a market cap of $20.25 million; its shares were traded with a P/E ratio of 39.69 and P/S ratio of 4.99. Cerner had an annual average earnings growth of 20.90% over the past 10 years.

SunEdison Inc. (SUNE)

Chanos sold 215,929 shares for $17.93 per share. SunEdison is engaged in the manufacture and sale of wafers and related products to the semiconductor and solar industries. The company is engaged in two reportable industry segments: Semiconductor Materials and Solar Energy.

Chanos started to buy SunEdison in Q4 2014 at an average price of $19 and during the last two quarters he reduced his stake by 58.09% and 33.10%. This quarter he sold out his stake at a price below his purchase price, but the trade had a total gain of 13%.

SunEdison has a market cap of $1.3 million; its shares were traded with a P/S ratio of 0.49.

Chanos sold out 89,261 shares in Akamai Technologies for $72.12 per share. The stock was new in the portfolio, and it was established in Q1 2015 at $66.1. In Q2 2015 the investor increased his stake by 15.38% and after he sold out Chanos gained 7%.

Akamai Technologies has a market cap of $10.07 billion; its shares were traded with a P/E ratio of 31.04 and P/S ratio of 4.75. Akamai Technologies had an annual average earnings growth of 14.10% over the past 10 years.

Stanley Druckenmiller (Trades, Portfolio) and Jim Simons (Trades, Portfolio) are two other investors who sold out their stakes in Akamai Technologies.

Pioneer Natural Resources Co. (PXD)

It has been a new holding for the fund, and the company bought 28,771 shares of it in the second quarter at average price of $158.54. This quarter he sold out his stake below his purchase price at $124.62. Chanos lost 21%.

Pioneer Natural Resources explores for, develops and produces oil and gas reserves and in doing so sells homogenous oil, natural gas liquids (NGL) and gas units and has a market cap of $22.1 billion; its shares were traded with a P/E ratio of 28.29 and P/S ratio of 4.70.

Pioneer also lost its position in the portfolios of George Soros (Trades, Portfolio) and Kyle Bass (Trades, Portfolio). Wallace Weitz (Trades, Portfolio), Stanley Druckenmiller (Trades, Portfolio) and Mario Gabelli (Trades, Portfolio) reduced their stakes by 7.75%, 27.96% and 12.08%.

KEYW Holding Corp. (KEYW)

The investor bought 386,742 shares of KEYW Holding in the second quarter at an average price of $8.94, and Chanos sold out his stake and lost 10%.

KEYW Holding provides mission-critical cybersecurity, cyber superiority and geospatial intelligence solutions to U.S. government defense, intelligence and national security agencies and commercial enterprises and has a market cap of $251.39 billion; its shares were traded with a forward P/E ratio of 72.99 and P/S ratio of 0.79.

KEYW Holding was traded by two investors in this quarter: Chanos sold out his stake and Ron Baron (Trades, Portfolio) reduced his stake by 31.03%.

iShares MSCI Japan Index (ETF)Ă‚ (EWJ)

The last stake Chanos sold was another new stock in his portfolio. He bought 262,880 shares in the first quarter at average price of $11.96. In the second quarter he reduced his stake by 1.20% and in this quarter he sold out his stake above his purchase price and gained 3%.

During the third quarter iShares MSCI just lost its position in Chanos' portfolio while it got a new position in Murray Stahl (Trades, Portfolio)’s portfolio, and its position increased by Jim Simons (Trades, Portfolio) over 50%.
