Financial Institutions Inc offers full range of banking and related financial services to consumer,commercial and municipal customers through its bank and nonbank subsidiaries.

Financial Institutions Inc is a financial holding company organized in 1931 under the laws of New York State. The Company, through its wholly-owned New York chartered banking subsidiary, Five Star Bank, Financial Institutions, Inc. offers deposit, lending and other financial services to individuals, municipalities and businesses in Western and Central New York. It offers loans including commercial business and revolving lines of credit, commercial mortgages, equipment loans, residential mortgage loans and home equity loans and lines of credit, home improvement loans, automobile loans and personal loans. The Company has two reportable operating segments, banking and insurance. The banking segment includes all of the Company's retail and commercial banking operations. The insurance segment includes the activities of SDN, a full service insurance agency that provides insurance services to both personal and business clients. Its deposit products include checking and savings account programs for individuals and businesses, including money market accounts, certificates of deposit, sweep investment capabilities as well as Individual Retirement Accounts and other qualified plan accounts and 24-hour ATM facilities, telephone banking services such as account inquiry and balance transfers. The Company provides banking and financial services to individuals, municipalities and businesses through a network of over 50 offices and an extensive ATM network in fifteen contiguous counties of Western and Central New York: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Cayuga, Chautauqua, Chemung, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Steuben, Wyoming and Yates counties. Its banking activities also extend into neighboring counties. Its competition for loans comes principally from commercial banks, savings banks, savings and loan associations, mortgage banking companies, credit unions, insurance companies and other financial service companies.

Five Star Bank Names Two Community Development Officers

─ Johnathan Graves is based in Buffalo WARSAW, N.Y., March 20, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Five Star Bank (“Five Star”), subsidiary of Financial Institutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:FISI), announced two new community development officers today: Rosalie Rivera-Arzuaga has been named Community Development Officer for Monroe County. Her office is located at Five Star Bank Plaza in downtown Rochester.
 Johnathan Graves has been named Community Development Officer for Erie County. His office is located at Five Star’s recently-opened Financial Solution Center at Fountain Plaza in downtown Buffalo. Ms. Rivera-Arzuaga and Mr. Graves play an important role in the execution of Five Star Bank’s CRA program to increase access to affordable loan and deposit services for low and moderate income clients. They are responsible for community outreach and partnering with local non-profit organizations and government agencies. They will develop relationships with neighborhood groups, realtors, home buyer counseling agencies and others to identify and accept applications for residential loans and refer small business loans and low cost deposit product opportunities in low to moderate income areas.
