Hovnanian Enterprises Inc. is a US residential homebuilder operating through two businesses: homebuilding and financial services. Under brands including K. Hovnanian Homes, the company designs, constructs, markets and sells single-family detached homes, attached townhomes, condominiums, urban infill and active-adult homes, largely in planned residential communities. Its homebuilding operations are organized geographically, with segments covering the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and West, spanning states such as New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Arizona and California. Buyers are primarily individual homebuyers, including first-time, move-up and active-adult purchasers. Revenue comes mainly from home sales, recognized at closing, supplemented by its financial services operation, which provides mortgage and title services to homebuyers. The company also offers mortgage financing through its mortgage subsidiary, supporting sales of its own homes.
