Empresa Distribuidora y Comercializadora Norte SA (Edenor) is an Argentine electricity distribution company. It holds a concession to distribute and sell electricity in the northern and northwestern areas of Greater Buenos Aires, including a large part of the city of Buenos Aires and surrounding municipalities. Edenor serves residential, commercial, industrial, and public-sector customers, operating and maintaining the distribution network in its concession area and purchasing wholesale electricity for resale to regulated end users. Revenue comes primarily from regulated distribution tariffs charged to customers, supplemented by connection and other service charges. The company was privatized in the 1990s and its shares trade on the Buenos Aires and New York stock exchanges. It operates under a long-term concession granted by the national government and regulated by Argentine authorities.
