Avio SpA is an Italian aerospace company that designs, develops and produces propulsion systems and launch vehicles for space and defense applications. Its core business covers solid and liquid propellant propulsion systems for space launchers, solid propellant motors for tactical missiles, and the development and integration of the Vega family of light space launchers, including the upgraded Vega C. The company also works on satellite control engines and lower environmental impact propulsion technologies. Avio serves institutional and commercial customers, including the European Space Agency and Arianespace, and operates mainly in Italy and France, with activities in French Guiana and the United States. Revenue derives primarily from long-term contracts for launcher production, propulsion systems and related research and development programs, alongside its missile propulsion work.
