Labrador Iron Ore Royalty Corporation is a Canadian royalty and investment company whose principal asset is an approximately 15.1% equity interest in Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC), a major North American producer and exporter of iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate. IOC operates mines, concentrators and pelletizing facilities in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, and a port at Sept-Îles, Quebec, shipping primarily to steel producers in North America, Europe and Asia. The company's revenue comes mainly from a gross overriding royalty of about 7% on all iron ore products produced, sold and shipped by IOC, a per-tonne commission on products from leased lands, and dividends on its IOC equity stake. It distributes available cash to shareholders as dividends, and its shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Rio Tinto, Mitsubishi and the company together own IOC.
