FedEx Freight Holding Co Inc Frequently Asked Questions
Guru Commentaries on NYSE:FDXF
We added FedEx Freight Holding Co., Ltd. following its spinoff from our existing holding, FedEx Corporation (FDX). As a standalone company, FedEx Freight is the leading pure-play less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier in North America, benefiting from unmatched scale, network density and a strong competitive position. We believe the separation from FedEx unlocks upside, as non-union LTL peers have historically commanded materially higher multiples. As a standalone business, FedEx Freight can sharpen its commercial strategy, improve pricing discipline and target a higher-quality freight mix. Margin expansion can also result from yield improvements, volume growth and cost efficiencies.
FedEx Freight is a spin-off of shipping company FedEx Corp., creating a standalone less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier that is the industry’s largest by revenue. The LTL industry is highly concentrated, with disciplined operators and favorable demand trends. As a standalone company, FedEx Freight should be better positioned to focus on operational execution and improve margins, where it currently trails leading competitors.
