Japan Tobacco Inc. is one of the world's largest tobacco companies, headquartered in Tokyo. It manufactures and sells combustible cigarettes and reduced-risk products through three geographic clusters: Asia (including its home market of Japan and the Asia-Pacific), Western Europe, and EMA (Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Turkey, the Americas, and duty-free). Its principal cigarette brands include Winston, Camel, Mevius, and LD, sold outside the United States, where it does not compete directly with Altria. Reduced-risk offerings include Ploom heated tobacco, Logic vaping products, and Nordic Spirit nicotine pouches. Beyond tobacco, Japan Tobacco operates a pharmaceutical business and a processed food segment. Revenue comes mainly from cigarette sales, supplemented by reduced-risk products, pharmaceuticals, and food. The company distributes through wholesalers, retailers, and its own channels across more than 100 countries, with Japan remaining its most profitable market.
