Its primary operating business is Enact Holdings, a mortgage insurance subsidiary that provides private mortgage insurance to lenders and investors in the United States, protecting them against borrower default; Genworth holds a majority stake in Enact, which is separately listed. Genworth's remaining operations consist largely of a run-off or closed block of legacy businesses, including long-term care insurance, life insurance, fixed and variable annuities, and other products no longer actively marketed.
