Northern Oil & Gas Inc is an exploration and production company. Its operations include the acquisition, development, and production of oil and natural gas fields. The company is a nonoperator, which means that it contracts out the actual drilling and production to well operators on its own properties. Northern Oil and Gas' properties are located in the Williston Basin, within North Dakota and Montana. Most of the company's production comes from its North Dakota sites, and the company's reserves typically consist of a higher proportion of oil than natural gas. The company relies on its well operating partners to market and sell the oil and gas. Northern Oil and Gas uses a wide range of well operating partners and does not rely heavily on one in particular.
