Vontier Corp Frequently Asked Questions
Guru Commentaries on NYSE:VNT
Vontier sells the equipment, software, and recurring services that help convenience stores pump gas and process payments, repair shops diagnose problems, and car washes operate efficiently. The company has become more fuel agnostic in recent years, with its products serving vehicles powered by gasoline, electricity, and hydrogen. Vontier’s payment systems stretch from the pump to inside of convenience stores. The firm owns a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging software. Although organic revenue growth has moderated, Vontier's products are embedded in physical transportation infrastructure, making its fate increasingly tied to the popularity of convenience stores rather than just gasoline sales. The current enterprise value is near the low end of its range since the 2020 spinoff, and shares are trading for 9x expected 2026 free cash flow.
Vontier (VNT) manufactures tanks, pumps, and payment systems for gas stations. The company was spun off from Fortive in 2021 and has faced headwinds from a pull-forward in sales due to changing EMV payment standards. However, at its November 2025 Investor Day, management made a compelling case that its broad product offering positions it to benefit from continued growth in the convenience store end market. We believe the shares are attractively valued at approximately 9x earnings.
