TFS Financial Corporation is a savings and loan holding company headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, and the parent of Third Federal Savings and Loan Association of Cleveland. Its primary business is originating and servicing residential real estate mortgage loans, including home purchase and refinance loans, and attracting retail savings deposits through checking, savings, and certificate of deposit accounts. The company operates through a branch network concentrated in Ohio and Florida, serving retail customers in those markets. It also holds interests in non-banking activities through subsidiaries, including investments in private equity funds, lease transactions, title agency services, and reinsurance of private mortgage insurance. Revenue is generated mainly from net interest income, the spread between interest earned on mortgage loans and securities and interest paid on deposits, supplemented by fees and other non-interest income.
