Through its subsidiary, which is a federally chartered community-oriented savings bank, it is engaged in attracting deposits from the general public and using those funds to invest in loans and securities. The sources of funds are customer deposits, repayments of loans, maturities of investments, and funds borrowed from outside sources, which are used for the origination of loans. It operates in one reportable segment, which generates income principally from interest on loans and investment securities, as well as from fees charged in connection with various loan and deposit services.
