HomeTrust Bancshares Inc. is a bank holding company headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina, and the parent of HomeTrust Bank, a North Carolina state-chartered bank. It serves individuals, businesses, and municipalities through a branch network concentrated in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia. The bank gathers deposits from the general public and uses those funds, along with borrowed funds, to originate loans. Its lending portfolio includes commercial real estate loans, construction and development loans, commercial and industrial loans, equipment finance and municipal leases, and residential mortgage loans secured by first and second liens, including home equity loans, plus other consumer loans. Revenue comes primarily from net interest income earned on loans and securities, supplemented by fees and service charges on deposit accounts and other banking services.
